Benefits and Requirements

 

TIGER Scholarship Package*



1. Up to $9,000 toward completion of a bachelor’s degree at Fremont College

• $500 per term for those who qualify
• Additional $500 per term available to a few qualified AA graduates who meet all scholarship criteria for six consecutive terms, through company-matching award years three and four

2. Guaranteed internship at a sponsor company after all scholarship criteria are met for three consecutive terms

3. Guaranteed job interview at a sponsor company for AA graduates who meet all scholarship criteria for at least five terms. A huge plus in this challenging economy!

4. Lunch meeting with CEO or HR manager at one of the sponsor companies

These valuable career development meetings are by invitation only to the following students:
• Scholarship recipients
• Selected prospective students
• Students with 80% attendance that meet at least four of the six scholarship criteria

TIGER Scholarship Requirements**



At the end of each term (every 10 weeks), students must meet all of the following requirements to receive the full Tiger Scholarship package.

1. Accepted and enrolled as a full-time student in one of Fremont College’s degree programs

2. 90%+ attendance in all courses during the term

3. 3.50 (or higher) cumulative GPA

4. “A” grades in all sponsor-company-reqiured courses
• Please inquire at Fremont College Student Affairs department for the course requirements for the sponsor company you’re interested in

5. 100% attendance on Tiger Forum which is held on 2nd Friday of each month from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Cerritos campus.

6. Proof of demonstrated leadership as a student ambassador, an event volunteer or host a community outreach event outside the classroom

7. Completed Application with 300-word essay on one of the topics listed below every term:
• Why I deserve this scholarship
• My learning highlights and my Fremont College story
• A thank you letter to the sponsor company detailing my learning experiences

* To qualify, students must complete the Tiger Scholarship. Application and meet all requirements each term. Scholarship funds are awarded in increments of $500 per 10-week term to students enrolled on a full-time basis (minimum of 15 term credits per term). Students attending on part-time basis will not be eligible to receive scholarship funds.** All verifications must be signed by verified Fremont College Officers. Please inquire at Student Services.
